Ways to Help

  • Hope for New York has made a comprehensive list of all urgent needs for its partners across the city. This includes donations and volunteer needs for outreach.

  • The City of New York is looking for donations, volunteers, and partners to support the COVID-19 response efforts.

  • The city needs about 2,000 people to donate blood every day to maintain its supply. To donate, visit The New York Blood Center or the American Red Cross

  • If you have had COVID-19 and recovered, and live in the Tri-State area (NY, NY, CT), your blood can be used to help treat critically ill patients at Mount Sinai Hospitals. Become a Serum Donor.  

  • Continue to support your favorite local NYC restaurants by ordering takeout or contributing to their fundraising campaigns: Manhattan & Brooklyn

  • Support local music venues and their staff by buying gift certificates or making donations directly. TimeOut has put together a great resource here.

 


Ways to Get Help

  • The Redeemer Diaconate has put together a COVID 19 resource guide for the general public for financial assistance, food, housing, and medical help.

  • The Redeemer Diaconate has also put together a separate resource guide for freelance artists and musicians that focuses more on income replacement. 

  • Redeemer Counseling Services is launching a series of remote Crisis Support Groups that address specific concerns related to this crisis.

  • New York City has a list of resources and services focused on unemployment, medical help, food, and rent and financial assistance, and emotional support + help for organizations

  • The NY Times has put together a guide to connect you to the basic information you’ll need if your income has fallen or been cut off completely.

  • Invisible Hands provides free deliveries for the most at-risk community members facing COVID-19. Sign up to volunteer or request a delivery.

  • Poets & Writers has put together a list of resources for writers in the time of coronavirus. 

  • Request, give, or make PPE for healthcare workers at #GetUsPPE.

  • Find food assistance, help paying bills, and other free or reduced cost programs, including new programs for the COVID-19 pandemic at findhelp.org

  • This website is compiling a list that is specifically designed to serve freelance artists, and those interested in supporting the independent artist community.  

  • Coronavirus information and resources for the NYC Dance Community by Dance/NYC

  • The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, in partnership with the New York Foundation for the Arts, has launched a new program for emergency medical grants for artists.
